OIE Advanced Competency Training
Strengthening Quality Veterinary Services Worldwide
CAHFS is partnering with the Veterinary Public Health Center for Asia-Pacific (VPHCAP) of the Veterinary Faculty at Chiang Mai University, Thailand to strengthen critical competencies identified by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) as critical to the provision of quality veterinary services.
The competencies for Emerging and Reemerging Diseases and Applied Risk Analysis will be taught during the Global Health Institute 2016 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Antimicrobial resistance will be used as the case study of emerging disease in a training course on One Health Leadership February 15-18, 2016 and Applied Risk Analysis will be taught the week of February 22-26.
These training courses represent the first step toward a professional certificate that addresses all 8 of the OIE’s advanced competencies to assure national veterinary services of quality. CAHFS is an OIE collaborating Centre for Veterinary Services capacity-building and the VPHCAP is the premier training centre for veterinary public health in Southeast Asia.
