On May 5, 2006, sixty University faculty, graduate students and GIS professionals attended the Geographic Information Systems symposium sponsored by the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety.  The program was co-chaired by Peter Davies, Leman Chair of Swine Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine and Will Hueston, Center for Animal Health and Food Safety, University of Minnesota. Presentations included updates on GIS research and applications in Minnesota, nationally and internationally and the legal and ethical implications of the continued development of GIS for animal and human health.
